Unfortunate incident

You might remember my last post Still planning, where I've shown pictures and experiences with our purchase of the bikes. So there was a really unfortunate incident with the red one, the KLR 650.

The seller was already heading down from Colombia to Ecuador, as he got pulled over by the police. The police checked all his papers and licenses when they found out, that there's something wrong with the temporary import permission document. It turned out, that the previous owner of the bike stayed in Colombia for almost two years, instead of the legal three months. Anyway, he did not know about this issue, still the police let him wait three days at the Aduana to check the situation and finally they took his bike.

After hearing about that, we had to reschedule the organization and purchase of our third bike.  Long story short: We found another really cool motorcycle, a Suzuki V-Strom 650 of the year 2012!
