Day 10: Back to the Panamericana and the sea

Starting another day in the stunning mountains of Huaraz and preparing to head south, direction Barranca and later Lima.
Early in the morning after breakfast we hopped on our bikes for this day's mountain ride. From Huaraz, as said, on about 3300 meters over sealevel, up to around 4000 meters and down to zero. Our goal this day: Barranca. Distance: 220 nice kilometers.

Thanks to the shopping trip the evening before, we were again equipped with our radios, water, drinks, food and the traditional "panettone" cake for this night, thus the only stops we will need are gonna be gas stops and lunch.

Ah yes, and with this views, obviously some stops to enjoy the views and take some photos.

Arrived in Barranca, which is a nice beach and also touristic in summer, the city was kind of empty. As august is winter it was very fresh and cloudy. And also the city didn't have cool places to set up our tents, on a first sight. After riding around in this city for about 30 minutes, we decided to check out the viewpoint at the side of the city, with a super cool view.
The guys had the crazy idea to sleep on this hill, and after a discussion about the benefits and possible problems over there, we came to an agreement to sleep on this hill, but not at the initial place. Even if this would be cooler, in my opinion more unconfortable, because the ground isn't even.

As this place has a great view and the city is supposed to don't be very safe, the police was also on the hill, either enjoying the view or showing presence. We decided to ask them, if it's a allowed to sleep here. They just answered: "For sure, why shouldn't it be forbidden? Just be careful, this city isn't very safe.".

They also said that they're going to do controls all night and that they're going to inform the security companies who help them to do checks, so that we can sleep safe and sound.

The good thing about camping next to a city is that we could go down to buy some beers and enjoy them with relaxing music and this beautiful sunset. One small incident happened to Mathias, as he went down to buy the beers, he got bitten by one of these street dogs, which are everywhere in this country. Fortunately he was still using his moto trousers and thus almost nothing happened to him.

That's all for this day, thanks and see you soon!
