Day 7: The supermarket of great decisions

Everything was like expected and calm this night and after breakfast and a coffee we set up the bikes again to travel down to our first stop, 100km through desert and small cities, to Chimbote.

Firstly we stopped at a gas station for the ritual: gasoline, snacks, drinks, get rid of the trash and wash the dishes of last night.

The roads are starting to get better and we hope it'll stay like this. Again in the desert, this time with little more sandstorms, blowing sand onto the streets. But still, these streets cross small dunes, hills and everything close to the beach; a wonderful driving experience!

Cool, right?

Arrived in Chimbote, we went to a mall for lunch and to organize some of the important things. This day, we also wanted to decide if we have time to go and visit Huaraz, an incredible city inside of mountains full of snow. The redirection to Huaraz would probably cost us two or three days, but as Swiss guys, we couldn't reject an offer like this! You'll see why this decision was really worth it! ;-)

So we continued to ride direction Huaraz, as the first hour the streets were suddenly completely broken, probably also because of "El Niño", Followed by few minutes of gravel roads.

But hey, it's an adventure, and this is part of it!

We already got rewarded for passing these roads, as the roads to the mountains started being better, almost no traffic and stunning views. We found a really cool place next to a small river, where we decided to set up the tents.

As the owner of this place arrived he just said: please, don't touch my apples! So we stayed and went to swim and take a shower in the river.

After dining, we noticed that there was no city in this valley and thus we could see many stars.
Unfortunately we didn't carry a professional camera with us, so we couldn't capture the sky. And even if this place was full of mosquitoes and we all got bitten about 20 times, after a few drinks and a tired body we slept pretty well.
