Segundo dia - Mud fight after sea views

First night camping was totally fine and we could even have a shower in the morning and got bread with eggs for breakfast before we left.

The adventure starts today, first time we'll be able to ride our bikes for many kilometers on the Panamericana Norte and find a wild campsite somewhere near to our route. Plan for today: Tumbes - Zorritos - Mancora and then find a campsite after Talara, near to Negritos.

Mancora is a beautiful, touristic surf-city at the beach. The streets are more or less fine and the views are stunning. And its hot, but that's totally worth it!

The Swiss guys couldn't resist climbing up the first hill they saw and took this awesome shot!

We then found a nice desert behind Negritos, the city few kilometers south of Talara. We decided to look for a suitable place to sleep there. On our way to the "perfect" place, we wanted to go nearer to the hills where all the ways ended. Unfortunately it was wet mud and we almost got stuck there. Fighting to come out of this mud, the clutch of the Suzuki DRZ 400 had to work too much, like that the bike wasn't able to go for long distances anymore and we had to find a mechanic the next day to receive his diagnosis.

Anyway, we just parked where the problem happened and set up our tents there. It was really windy, which made it cool down a lot as soon as the sun went down.

About one hour later a security guy showed up and asked what we're doing here. He told us that he works for the oil company there and that we're on their territory but we could stay for sure as we're just camping there. He also told us not to make fire there, for security reasons.
Well, we were hungry and so had to cook our spaghettis for which we had to use our cooking stove. No security issues. We again went to bed early, but already were missing a shower... Next day plan was fixing the Suzukis clutch or whatever the problem could be and then find a hostel in a near city.

Route done today: about 200 km
